1. What SpendPilot does

SpendPilot is a grocery budgeting tool. You tell us how much you want to spend on food each week or month, and SpendPilot helps you plan meals and shopping that fit inside that amount. It shows you estimated basket costs, how much of your budget is left, and how your planned spend compares with the spend you record.

2. What SpendPilot is not

• Not regulated financial advice. SPEND PILOT LTD is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing in the Service is a personal recommendation about your finances, debt, savings, credit or any financial product.
• Not a bank connection. SpendPilot does not connect to your bank or building society, does not read your transactions, and never asks for your bank login. Your spend figures are the ones you enter yourself.
• Not a payment service. SpendPilot does not take payments, hold your money or place orders. When you buy groceries you pay the supermarket directly.
• Not debt or money advice. If you are struggling with money, free and impartial help is available from MoneyHelper (moneyhelper.org.uk), StepChange (stepchange.org), National Debtline (nationaldebtline.org) and Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk).

3. How our figures are calculated

• Budget and "safe to spend" are simple calculations: your budget less the estimated cost of what you have planned or recorded, less the price buffer described in the Pricing and Availability Notice.
• Budget health score and on-budget streaks are calculated from the budgets you set and the spend you record. They reflect your entries, not your actual bank balance.
• Benchmarks and local averages are general statistics drawn from [SOURCE OF BENCHMARK DATA TO BE INSERTED] and are provided for context only. They are not a recommendation about how much you should spend, and they do not take account of your circumstances.
• Savings are estimates based on prices collected at the time and are subject to everything set out in the Pricing and Availability Notice.

All figures depend on the accuracy of what you enter and of the prices we collect. Check them before you rely on them.

4. Your decisions

You are responsible for your own spending decisions. Setting a budget in SpendPilot does not stop you spending more, and a swap suggestion is a suggestion. SpendPilot cannot guarantee that you will stay within budget or save money.
